COMING 2023
Kansas City Rainbow Tour
A self-guided, app-narrated, driving tour of Kansas City’s rich LGBTQ+ history. Years before the Stonewall Riots erupted, The Gay Rights movement was being conceived in Kansas City.
The KC Rainbow Tour utilizes the VoiceMap app to guide you on a driving tour of approximately 12 specific historic destinations with reference to over 20 more. The 60-90 minute tour will begin near UMKC and wind its way Northward with the final stop at the Kansas City Museum in Kansas City’s historic Northeast. As you drive the tour you’ll hear stories and voices from past and present as you revisit the colorful history of our rainbow community.
The KC Rainbow Tour Launch Party is Saturday, June 3 at the Kansas City Museum.
